Another month closer! November was a busy one. Before I do the slideshow, we have an important family update. A few months ago, Luke and I found out about an orphan in China with Spina Bifida. Her name is Anna and she will be 3 years old in January. We have decided to pursue the adoption of Anna.

We have always wanted to adopt someday and when we saw her picture for the first time, we felt as if we were looking at a picture of our daughter, who just happens to live half a world away and we have never met her. China is not the country we would have chosen to adopt from, mainly because it's very expensive. But, we do not feel like we choose China. We feel like God choose Anna for us.

It all seems a little insane, given that we still have not raised adequate funds to get our mortgage where we feel like we can live and take care of one disabled child, much less two. But, I get sick to my stomach when I imaging telling Anna, "We wanted you. You could have come to live with us. You could have learned to move around in a wheelchair and been taken care of medically. We could have been your family, but there are these little green pieces of paper with pictures of dead presidents on them and...well, we didn't have enough of them."

Amazingly enough, we have been way less stressed about money since finding out about Anna. We had to pray about it for a total of five minutes. Is if God's will for us to care for the orphan? Does he want us to open our hearts and our homes to this precious little angel? The answers were swift and plain. Can we afford it?  We don't care. Our father owns it all and He is our provision. More than anything, we want His will. We believe Anna to be His will for us, but we recognize that we see in part, we know in part and we trust the one who knows fully.

Please pray for our family. Right now, given the LONG timeline of adoption, the earliest we would be getting her is next November or December. Please pray for favor with all agencies involved.  Pray for provision and wisdom for our family. We are so grateful that we are where we are with this house. If we would have heard of Anna while we were in our other house, there is no way we could have even entertained bringing her home, but now, knowing the home we will be able to get her, well...let's just say if we could get on a plane to China today...we WOULD!!!!

Sorry about the length of the update. Obviously, this month was a little different! (By the way, if you want to see Anna, you can go to:  http://www.hopefosterhome.com click on "Babies at Hope Healing Home" She's the second picture on the page "Anna Gizella." She's so beautiful!!!)

So, here's the house update for November. At the beginning of the month, we were finishing up electric and a few little framing projects.

We hired out gutters, so it was nice when Luke showed up to work at 4pm & something was done that he didn't do!

They did some work removing the extra dirt and getting ready for finish grading.

Then, the middle of the month was insulation. We were extremely green and got this cool recycled blown-in insulation

We got a central vac donated & our friend Steve did the initial install.

Then the rest of the month was spent on drywall.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and is able to truly celebrate Christmas!
