What a month! It's been so busy, yet seems like not much has gotten accomplished! It's a challenge to be sure. But, God is faithful and is using all the things we are feeling and experiencing for our good. To make us more like Him. It's a long journey!
Here's the month in pictures.

Early in August, they covered the roof with plywood
The kids have a great time and always have something to do... when they take a break from helping!
Daddy always lets them do all sorts of dangerous things... very carefully, of course!
Once the sheeting was all done, it was time to build the chimney & start roofing!!!
Selah always does her part by charming the guys!
Abram & his buddies Drake & Collin cleaned the place up.
Finally, towards the end of the month, we had windows & doors delivered & have most of them installed.
Selah even got in on the work.
Right now, we're getting ready to rough in the plumbing in the basement, so they had to do some tough digging first.

At this point, we have had 42 men come to help since we began in April. We have a list hanging in our home of their names and the kids & I pray for them and their families daily. We consider it an honor. They have given selflessly, some of them for days and days. It is really awesome to watch all these people come together. Of course, we always need more help, as most of these guys have families and can't come out 6 days a week! Luke is usually at the house Mon thru Fri from 4pm to 9pm or so and Saturdays from 7am to 9pm(ish). Just give him a call if you're available to help. Or if you know anyone who would be willing or able to help, please send them our way.
We have also had seven individuals who were able to donate financially. Right now, this is still our biggest need. Even if you don't feel like you can donate any funds, would you please pray that God would provide what we need & we would have wisdom and favor to spend wisely! Thank you for your love and support! |
